The Ministry of CEF Transcarpathia
CEF has currently 6 local Hungarian full-time workers and many volunteer helpers serving around the Bereg Camp in the Ukraine. They teach children in Good News Clubs® (GNC), churches, public schools, orphanages and in open-air. The team is responsible for the summer camps which are held in Bereg Camp.In 2018 over 2,000 children, teens and adults had the opportunity to participate in one of the Bible camps, retreats or conferences at Bereg Camp. A small staff including the kitchen staff, and a good number of volunteer teachers’ other helpers have been involved to make the time really beneficial for the campers.
Our Vision
Bereg Camp is determined to be an oasis where all guests, especially children and teens, receive the opportunity to know Christ, make their first steps in the new life with Him and learn how to live a life of faith according to the Word of God.
The History of Bereg Camp
The ministry of CEF with Hungarian Minorities in Wes-tern Ukraine was started in 1992. The first CEF local workers have recognized the need to give the chance to children to attend a Bible camp. This desire became reality in 2000. A Christian family has offered a piece of land which CEF has purchased. For the first eight years the camp functioned under very basic conditions using borrowed military tents.
