A Look at Croatia
“However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:8b
Croatia is a land rich in natural and historical beauties, fertile land, warm sea, and hospitable people. The people are mainly Roman Catholic. Child Evangelism Fellowship® (CEF®) was started in Croatia in 2000, and Rujana Č. is the only full-time worker.
The 5-Day Club® (5DC) is the most fruitful CEF ministry in Croatia. Thousands of children have heard the gospel at the 5DCs in Pušćine and many have believed in Jesus. Many volunteers have also completed their practical training by teaching at the 5DCs following their participation in the Teaching Children Effectively™ (TCE) course.
We praise God for working in the hearts of Christians during the pandemic last year. Previously, when we would speak with pastors about children’s ministry, they were not interested. But four different groups from three churches wanted to be trained in children’s ministry last year! The first group already has a Good News Clubs® (GNC™) and others plan to work with the children in their church.
Here are two testimonies from children: “You made me very happy with the Bible correspondence course. I enjoy the lessons. During quarantine I was bored, but I try to help the elderly and do my school work well. I’m learning a lot from the lessons and can’t wait for you to send me the new ones.”
“I was not afraid of the dark when I went upstairs today because I remembered a verse I learned at camp. ‘Be strong and take heart all who hope in the Lord.’” Psalm 31:25
Our main need in ministry is for more workers. CEF has new teaching materials, but we are behind in translating them into Croatian. We need a person dedicated to translation, and other workers for various types of ministry so more children can be reached with the gospel.

Daily Prayer Guide
Pray for all the family visits we will make this month. Pray our contact with families we already know will be strengthened, and that God will open doors for new contacts.
Pray for the children who study God’s Word through the online Bible Correspondence Course. Pray for wisdom for the guides who answer the questions and for creativity as we add new content.
Please pray the new online evangelism project will be ready to put online soon. We are recording Biblical audio stories and pray many children will listen and be reached for Christ in this way.
Pray for our first TCE course after a long break because of the pandemic. This will be our first time teaching it on-line, so pray everything goes smoothly.
More churches are seeing the need for training for the teachers working with children or teenagers. Let’s ask for wisdom in planning each training and for the finances needed.
We pray for the chance to regularly visit Turkey. Most pastors are not aware of the need to evangelize children, so we pray that pastors and children’s workers can see the importance of evangelizing children and supporting this ministry.
Training courses like TCE1, TCE2 and JYCTraining should be held this autumn in Slovakia. May the LORD bless and use all these courses in order to reach more children with the Gospel. We pray the situation will allow us to meet face to face.
