Onward to the End
2 Timothy 4:7 “I fought the good fight, I finished the race, I kept the faith!”
We all need good examples to follow, so I thank God for showing me that it is still possible to run the race of life and run it to the very end!
1. THE GOOD FIGHT – How can we know which battles to fight and which to avoid? God is able to lead us to the battles that are RIGHT and NECESSARY to fight. Not only that, He will also give us what we need to fight well – strength, armor, strategy, and guidance. All this and more is found in Christ Jesus! Let Him fight our battles!
2. THE FINISHED RACE – To make it to the end of a race, we must prepare, practice, and cross the finish line. We get prepared by being teachable and having an active desire for growth. We learn as long as we are alive, as they say! We practice by doing our small daily tasks the best we can. We shouldn’t get lazy but should be faithful and persistent. We cross the finish line if we don’t stop running. Don’t give up! My prayer is that we will run the race to the end. And yours? Let us be persistent, steadfast, and unshakable, so we can finish the race.
3. THE FAITH KEPT – I have always been fascinated by heroes of the faith. I have studied them, learned from them, admired them! I pray that I would be one of them. How do we keep the faith? First, God wants us to put our trust in Him. Then the second part is ACTION – works done in faith! Remember that faith without works is dead. Don’t rest on your past success. A faith that is kept is one that is always active and ready. It is used every day as we walk step by step.
My prayer for each of us is that we can join Paul in saying these words at the end of our life and ministry.
“I fought the good fight, I finished the race, I kept the faith!”
I am grateful for Sebastian and Georgina’s lifelong work and service, for all they have done and achieved in their ministry to us. They are faithfully finishing their race and handing over the baton to us. May the Lord help us to do the same as they have done, faithfully serving to the very end.
Let this be our life, too!
For Christ, Darko Adamek
Daily Prayer Guide
We pray that the 5-Day Clubs in all the local areas will be able to start this month and can be in person. We pray parents will let their children participate. We pray God will make it possible to have all our planned open-air Gospel events.
From Mark P., a new CEF worker: “Please pray for us as we will have a busy summer. I will be taking the CEF training online and will have courses daily, and my wife Anastasia will take her internship in order to get her preschool education degree. Pray that the Lord keeps us focused and we make the most out of this summer. Also pray for our Roma first grader kids that have missed the majority of their school year due to the pandemic, and have a hard time readapting to the daily school schedule. Pray that they are able to get back on track quickly as soon as the schools reopen.”
Let us pray for Piotr and Kasia, who plan to start training at the international CLMC together on 14 June with other students from Central Europe. The training will take place online and will last 20 August. Natalia (Piotr’s wife) will be a translator for 6 hours each day of lectures recorded in Romania in English. Let us pray for strength for students and translators and that the fruit of the training will be new missionary workers in Poland who will develop ministry among children.
Pray for Zbyšek Š. as he has been preparing for teaching on-line at the CMLC. He needs special guidance from the Holy Spirit to prepare and use a variety of tools during his teaching.
Please pray for the camps we are planning for June and that we will have no restrictions from the government, and for our good health. Also the Children’s Ministries Leadership Course™ (CMLC) is starting this weekend. It will be online this year and will only offer the first half of the course. Pray for Alesio who has applied to be a student and who wants to work with CEF.
We pray the Lord will guide us as we develop online ministries. We pray more children will follow the Good News Clubs® (GNC®) on our Facebook page, and that we will hear from the children who watch and listen to the online materials.
We pray for a stable situation regarding the pandemic and for the possibility of socializing with children and helpers at the camps.
